The cryptocurrency bull market has introduced numerous projects with questionable names that often appear indistinguishable from scams. Animal, space, and body part names are frequently attached to a blockchain subdivision with the terms 'crypto' or 'blockchain', with some outperforming carefully researched investments you've held for years.
However, behind these suspicious projects and provocative names are genuine individuals. Some are simply opportunistic entrepreneurs jumping from crypto to real estate to Pokémon games, following whatever social trend helps them cover next month's expenses.
Then there are others who are committed to building legitimate, valuable products regardless of what their protocol is named.
The latter category describes Olivia, known as 'CryptoLiv' on social platforms. She's the 26-year-old founder of ASS Finance (American Secure Service, not what you might assume), a community-driven, Binance Smart Chain-based token with integrated features designed for a quintessential journey to the moon crypto project.
ASS began as a moonshot project following the success of tokens like 'SafeMoon', 'SaveEarth', 'ElonMoon', and other 'noun+safe' tokens that generated billions in profits for a select few.
Olivia wanted to pursue a different approach, however. The self-proclaimed 'LINK Marine' (what Chainlink community members call themselves) did create ASS as a meme coin, but committed to working full-time on the project after it surged to a $110 million market cap and attracted 70,000 holders within a single week.
Today, dozens of contributors rally to the ASS community from across the globe, collaborating to develop various use cases and solve multiple challenges. Olivia shared in a statement to CryptoSlate:
'I want to leverage our platform to give women a voice and encourage more women to enter the DEFI space.'
'To advance our mission of empowering women, I've spoken with several companies interested in integrating our token as an available payment option on adult video platforms,' she adds.
But success doesn't come without challenges. Olivia has received death threats for her vision of ASS, simply for promoting gender equality and pursuing adoption by adult websites as part of her strategy.
She remains undeterred and continues to develop the network daily. Her choice of memes isn't rockets or couches or laser eyes, but curated images that appeal to crypto enthusiasts, investors, and supporters instead:
Olivia isn't a top-tier code developer or blockchain engineer either. She's still a third-year Bachelor of Science nursing student working toward becoming a healthcare professional, having purchased her first cryptocurrency, Chainlink (LINK), only in 2018. She recalled:
'The brilliance of Sergey Nazarov and the amazing community behind it, aka the Link Marines, had me go ASS first down the blockchain rabbit hole.'

Q: Tell us why you decided to launch ASS Finance?
Olivia: I woke up one morning to several messages in my private Chainlink community from members asking me to create a meme token. Being the action-oriented person that I am, I decided it was a brilliant idea!
Of course, we initially planned to make a dog token, because who doesn't love dogs? Since Elon Musk is already the King of Doge, we collectively decided on the American Shepherd and settled with the ticker symbol $ASS.
Fast forward seven days, we now have over 100,000 hodlers and counting, including the creator of Doge himself Billy Markus, which tells you a lot about the community's love for ASS.
Q: How many people are working on ASS Finance and where is the team located?
Olivia: We have dozens of contributors rallying to our community from around the world, working together toward one common goal: ASS.
Our amazing moderators are determined to keep the community informed as we continue our rapid pace of growth. Personally, I was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Canada (Go Raptors!) and still live here today.
I am especially proud to represent the Canadian crypto community, which has been led by visionaries such as Vitalik Buterin (Toronto) and Changpeng Zhao (Vancouver, British Columbia) who have helped establish Canada as a premier global blockchain hub.
Q: What has been the community reaction to ASS Finance? What has surprised you?
Olivia: A consistent reaction that I've seen from the community is confusion. I've received many puzzled messages from white-collar professionals in finance who are trying to understand what on earth we're doing.
Our community is incredibly dedicated and we've developed a cult-like following, with some appointing me as their 'cult leader'. Whether we're hated or worshipped, we have the attention of the entire crypto space and we look forward to shaking up the industry with the support of ASS lovers everywhere.
Q: Why did you choose to build on Binance Smart Chain over other platforms?
Olivia: This is an easy answer for me, I'm biased toward Binance for several reasons. For one, Changpeng Zhao also known as 'CZ', the founder of Binance has corrected many of the flaws that plague competing blockchains at this point in time. 'CZ' has created a protocol that is faster, cheaper, and safer than most competing platforms.
Binance Smart Chain utilizes a Proof-of-Staked-Authority consensus mechanism which completes a block every three seconds; which is four times faster than their competitor Ethereum, which completes a block consensus at 13 seconds.

Q: What can you tell us about the product roadmap? What upcoming features are you most excited about rolling out?
Olivia: We have a charity fundraiser coming up soon that we're organizing with our team to donate to one of my favorite local charities. The charity, 'Covenant House' is the largest agency in Canada serving homeless and at-risk youth.
While our token is listed under the ticker ASS, our ultimate goal is to leverage the power of memes and the attention they generate to bring awareness to the issues facing women in all aspects of life.

Q: What is your most controversial opinion relating to blockchain and/or cryptocurrency?
Olivia: I believe anonymity in crypto has the potential to cause significant problems in the space. While anonymity is important for privacy purposes, it can also create issues including scams and distrust, which is why I aim to communicate transparently with the ASS community to build trust with each and every one of our investors.
In nursing, we use a technique called 'therapeutic relationship building' that I believe will help grow a strong ASS community. Through active listening, education, and empathy, I plan to engage with community members to build cohesive relationships that will lay the foundation for a robust network of holders and builders.
