Gensokishi is an upcoming metaverse platform built upon the incredibly popular Nintendo Switch/PS4 game Elemental Knights. The project has recently announced the collaboration with renowned artist Yoshitaka Amano, famous for his work on the Final Fantasy series since 1987. Amano shared his thoughts,
I have designed many characters throughout my career, but this was the first time for me to work with this 'creative art' concept. Deconstructing a character into parts and putting them back together. I had a lot of fun with this process.
The game is scheduled to begin prerelease testing in two months, potentially making it the first fully functional MMORPG metaverse game to enter the market. Players will have the opportunity to purchase, trade, rent, and sell 'cosplay NFTs' to customize the appearance of their in-game avatars. Users will also be able to create their own NFTs and import them into the game to take advantage of the UGC to Earn feature, which stands for 'user-generated content.' Players will also be able to claim areas of the game through token staking. The project is built on the Layer-2 network Polygon, ensuring that NFT gas fees remain relatively affordable.
